Medea is a reworking of the Jason and Medea story using some Often-overlooked aspects of the tale.

After the Argonauts journey for the golden fleece, Jason who was in love with his friend and fellow sailor Hylas, was used by the gods to take revenge on a king that had offended them. The Gods made he and Medea fall in love and marry, now on the other side of the world the spell is wearing off and the ramifications of not being true to himself are starting to make themselves apparent in a most terrible way.

The play explores same sex relationships, conversion therapy and gender equality in an ancient Greek setting, done as a mask play in modern language.

By Mask company Theatre Visage.
