A fierce solo drama-comedy show blending autobiographical storytelling, character comedy and freestyle soccer. It is poetic, conceptual, physical and emotionally raw. Lucia explores her journey as a woman torn between soccer stadiums, street performances and theatre stages. The show breaks stereotypes, spins the ball and the narrative, and reclaims space.
Lucia Mallardi is an Italian-born actress, former professional soccer player, and international performer. After playing in Italy’s Series A with Lazio Women and in Germany’s 2nd Bundesliga, she left professional sport to pursue street performance, travelling the world as a freestyle soccer artist. Her experience on the streets inspired her to create The SoccerActress, an autobiographical one-woman drama-comedy show blending storytelling, character comedy and freestyle soccer.
The show had its English-language premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025, earning her a Best Actress nomination from DarkChat, and was later performed at New York’s United Solo Theatre Festival – Fall 2025, Fringe World Perth 2026 and Adelaide Fringe 2026.
